Choose Game Genre--Team Game

My team game is a good learning game because the learning content is the major focus of the game. When you start the game with the learning focus, it makes it easier to design the game. Sometimes when we think about making a game we begin with the kind of game we want to make and then we throw in the educational content as an afterthought and that's when we get into trouble. It's easy to turn it into a quiz game when we do that. I didn't want to do that with this game and I really enjoyed researching the materials. I have far too much content to put into the game, but it's like a good research paper, you have the material and then you just pick and choose what needs to go into the paper. You don't put everything in the paper, but the entire body of research helped you to discover your idea and develop your thesis. That's how the game concept develops as well.
