Paper Prototyping

Both classes have been involved with paper prototyping now. Some students have enjoyed the assignment, and some have really not liked it at all. There have been some confusion about what needed to have been included in the prototype and how detailed it needed to have been. The videos on the wiki should have been an indicator of how much detail to put in the assignment, but some of the students didn't pay attention to the videos or maybe didn't watch them at all. I wonder sometimes.

I think another thing may have been the culprit as well. Sometimes when you get involved in a drawing activity, you want it to be perfect. And, that requires a lot of time. Putting something on video is intimidating too. Some of the class members wanted to make sure that their prototypes looked good for the camera, and that took an abundance of time--too much time to stay on schedule. But, we have some interesting prototypes and we are well on our way to beginning the game demos which is the next item of business in game design class.
