Choose Game Genre

Our team game is going to be a good learning game because we are going to add educational content into the game play, and the player is going to learn about science and history and technology as he/she plays the game. We don't want to make our game a quiz game like the "Hobo's Journey" game was. That was why I really didn't enjoy playing it. Larry was much more fun and educational. It was more interactive and I learned how to help a homeless person get to a shelter. It made me more aware of homelessness and gave me ideas of what I could do to help people who are homeless. Creating awareness of a problem is something that can be taught in a game and it doesn't take a "quiz" to do it. To make "Larry" better, I would make more levels and challenges for Larry. It would be nice to make a level where Larry is provided some training and is able to get a job and eventually get off of the streets. I know we can't solve the homeless problem in a game, but we can create awareness and identify ways that individuals can contribute to programs or create activities/programs to assist homeless people in their communities.
